The Sweets // Living the Sweet life in Central Illinois.

I listened to this program when it aired on December 1, 2009. In it Chesnutt speaks candidly about his past attempts at suicide. Sadly, three weeks later Chesnutt passed away on Christmas Day of an apparent suicide. I can't say I'm a huge fan of his music, but his is an amazing story. RIP.

His new album Troubadour might be my next music purchase. Bio:
K'naan grew up in war-torn Mogadishu — he moved to Toronto at 13 and learned English with the help of Eric B & Rakim records — which helps lend grittiness to his storytelling.
Julie and I just watched a great documentary about the drummer from the band Rogue Wave called "D tour". I was familiar with the story, but didn't know any of the details. Synopsis:
D tour is an award-winning feature-length documentary that chronicles Pat Spurgeon’s search for a living organ donor and the challenges associated with finding a viable match.
Some great performances from ACL featured in these online clips.
Wow. Entertainment Weekly, of all places, has the dish on a Temple of the Dog reunion for a rendition of "Hunger Strike" during the PJ concert in L.A. Additionally, this might be the first time that Chris Cornell (former frontman for Soundgarden) and Matt Cameron (PJ drummer and former member of Soundgarden) have joined forces since Soundgarden's split.
