Cooper's New Lunch Box

Even though he doesn't start kindergarten until the fall, Cooper picked out his new lunch box for his birthday.  He was so excited to use it immediately that he made us ask his preschool teachers if he was allowed to bring his own lunch.  We assumed he wasn't because they are fairly strict in terms of bringing in outside food, but apparently we were wrong.  So last night Cooper picked out his menu and helped me pack his lunch.  We'll see how long the enthusiasm lasts, but we'll roll with it for now.

Cooper's Creative Dance Class

Saturday was the big finale in Cooper's dance class where the kids got to demonstrate to parents what they learned. Unfortunately he decided not to participate at all in the festivities except for the part where he got to lay on the floor with Julie (see photos). I guess this means we can cross dance class off our list for now. ;)

Video: Out of My Way!

Anna and I went to the airport on Tuesday night to pick Julie and Cooper up from their trip to Seattle.  I had a vague idea of what would likely happen - Cooper would get to the bottom of the escalator and run to me, and Anna would scurry over and bear-hug Julie.  I decided to record the moment, which unfolded exactly as I anticipated.  The only part I didn't get right was how the siblings don't even acknowledge each other as they run by.

Retro Day in the Sweet House

It all started out with Cooper trying on his Obi Wan Kenobi Halloween costume. After that I decided it was the perfect time to get my record player out of the attic and dust off my Beatles collection on vinyl. While I was up there I found my old box of Star Wars stuff (action figures, comic books, sheets, towels and posters) that I brought down as well. So, Cooper dug into the action figures while we listened to Sgt. Pepper's on vinyl - not a bad afternoon.
